Our Story
It started in a small kitchen, with a comal, a molcajete, and a collection of recipes that had been kept alive through memory and practice. Our family has always believed that the best food doesn't need pretense — it needs good ingredients, time, and someone who cares.
When we opened Taqueria Misantla on South Kedzie Avenue, we wanted to bring that same spirit to the neighborhood. Little Village has always been a place where food is central to community, and we're honored to be part of that tradition.
Everything on our menu is made the way it's always been made — no shortcuts, no substitutes. The tortillas are pressed by hand every morning. The salsas are roasted and blended fresh. The mole simmers for hours. If it's on the menu, it's because we'd serve it to our own family.
